    Welcome to Second Grade!!

    Communication

Open communication between the teacher and families is a huge key to student success, so please feel free to reach out to me at any time.

Email is the best way and I will check it several times a day.  My email address is christi.robson@dvusd.org

Once we get rolling you should expect an e-mail from me about once a week, usually on Wednesday. I do use Class Dojo as a supplemental form of communication, but email is my primary source. I use Class Dojo for reminders and I often post pictures of the fun things we do, so if you would like, please join our class. Invitations will come home within the first few weeks of school.

    Birthday Treats

I love celebrating birthdays! Due to allergies, we ask you to only send in only peanut free treats.

Arranging a school approved "treat basket" from the cafeteria staff is also a great and easy way to celebrate your child's birthday.

    Class Wish List

Disinfecting wipes are always helpful and appreciated. Also, please see this following link for our class wish list. Little toys, water bottle stickers and treats are awesome for our class treasure chest and the students really appreciate it.

    Absenses

Hopefully, I will see your children every day, but of course, things come up. Please call the school at (623) 445-8090 to let them know if your child will be absent.  If you would like to pick up absent work at the end of the school day or have it sent home with a sibling or neighbor, please email me.

    Arrivals & Departures

School starts at 8:45 a.m. and dismisses at 3:30 p.m.  On early release days, dismissal is at 2:00 p.m.

    Clothing

Please have your children wear tennis shoes on PE days. Please see the Daily Schedule Page for our Specials Rotation.

    Lunch

Our lunch period is at 12:35.   Money can be added to your child's cafeteria account through

    Homework

The only homework expectation for 2nd grade is that they read for a minimum of 20 minutes per day and complete a provided reading log weekly.

    Behavior

In our classroom we use Class Dojo as a positive behavior plan. The more awesome choices they make the more points they get. After 10 points, they can pick a prize or a privilege. The privileges can be show and tell, a special pen jar for the day or lunch with the teacher. The treasure box is full of parent donation items. The kids usually LOVE water bottle stickers, fidgets or slime. To contribute, please see my Amazon wish list.
