11th Annual Battle of the Books Competition

10th Annual DVEF Battle of the Books
  •  2023-24 DVEF BATTLE OF BOOKS COMPETITION!

The Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading competition designed to promote the love and appreciation of reading to all elementary school 5th and 6th grade students, while building confidence, friendships, and study skills. The aim of this program is to encourage students to read a variety of books and recall information about the plots, characters, and setting of the books.

Students form their own teams of two or three students to compete and test their knowledge in three exciting school competitions held in the Library Media Center, usually during 1st hour, once in November, January, and March of the 2023-24 school year. Families are welcome and encouraged to support our competing students throughout the program. The winning team will move on to the 香港六合彩资料 Competition on April 4th, and possibly the inter-district-wide competition at Chandler Library in May. Team members are assigned 4 different books to read during each competition, a total of 12 books.
