Hello and welcome to the Diamond Canyon Art Page! My name is Ashley Moran and I am the K-8 Art Teacher at Diamond Canyon. After earning my teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2006, I taught 1 year in my home state of Michigan and then packed up and headed out west with my husband. I taught a few years in south Phoenix and have been teaching at DC since the fall of 2012. I love teaching art here at DC because our community is very supportive of the arts. Administration, teachers, parents, students, PTA as well as individuals and businesses in the community all see the value and importance of Art Education and have been wonderful partners in helping me to build the Diamond Canyon Art Program.
When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband and two children Avery and Brooks. I also love to read, knit/crochet, hike, eat out, go to the movies and try new activities!
The art room often gets overlooked when it comes to volunteers but we could really use them. This is especially true around February/March when we are preparing for our Night of Excellence during which EVERY art student has an artwork on display which needs to be mounted and labeled.
