The Deer Valley Unified School District Governing Board sought community input for how we should allocate resources for the upcoming school year (2024-2025 school year) in order to remain competitive and provide the best learning possibilities for students.

A community survey was administered in December 2023, and the results are here:

A Budget Committee was formed seeking community input to develop a list of budget priorities. For the 2024-25 school year, the committee will be looking at balancing the budget with the Federal Stimulus funds concluding as well as the possibility of not having voter-supported initiatives for future years. Once the committee compiles and categorizes these priorities, a subsequent survey will be sent to the community in January 2024 to rank these budget considerations in order of priority.

To provide examples of what has been developed previously, here are examples of major budget priorities from previous years:

    • Ensure and maintain safety at campuses
    • Provide academic supports for all students, including full-day kindergarten
    • Competitive salaries/wages and total compensation packages for all employees
    • Enhance special programs for students (STEM, STEAM, Special Education, Gifted, Career & Technical Education, Language Immersion, etc.)
    • Provide additional social/emotional supports for students
    • Support for large student settings (e.g., adding staff for approaching class loads)
    • Capital Improvements
