Mathematics Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Mission Statement
The mission of the Deer Valley Unified School District's Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department is to provide support to instructional staff that will result in increased proficiency in core subjects and technical subjects to encompass 21st Century skills fostered through leadership and coordinated partnership.
Arizona Mathematics Standards
Deer Valley Unified School District has implemented the Arizona Mathematics Standards, which follow a more focused and coherent design, not only by stressing conceptual understanding of key ideas, but also by continually returning to organizing principles such as place value or the properties of operations to structure those ideas. To ensure all students are ready for success after high school, the Arizona Mathematics Standards establish clear, consistent guidelines for what every student should know and be able to do. The Arizona Mathematics Standards focus on developing the critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills students will need to be successful.
