Deer Valley Unified School District uses the term essential academic and social behaviors when referring to the concepts and skills students must practice in preparation for success after formal education (Buffum, et. al 2018). We believe academic and social skills can be learned by all students and applied in every learning environment, campus setting, and community.  The 香港六合彩资料 Portrait of a Graduate showcases specific skills and attitudes prioritized after hearing from our students, parents, and teachers. It complements a shared vision in Deer Valley - to graduate lifelong learners who will successfully compete, lead and positively impact the world.

Every Deer Valley campus has identified and defined essential behaviors in the form of a behavior matrix.  These standards are highly visible and taught to all students to promote a safe school climate. Students demonstrating the skills are reinforced consistently throughout their school day. We encourage all students to pursue personal growth and wellness not just inside the classroom, but through their involvement in the various athletic programs, activities, clubs and community events offered across Deer Valley. Many campuses enhance their academic and social behavior instruction through the use of a program. Programs provide resources for skill teaching, student practice, and application.

Additionally, through a unique partnership with and , students at various schools in our district have access to a wellness counselor. Counselors provide resources for families and support students in distress.

The District may provide school-based referrals for behavioral health services to a contracted behavioral health services provider pursuant to the children’s behavioral health services fund or for services through the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System. Parents may annually opt into the school-based referrals. There will be a short survey of parents whose children were referred under this program. The District’s website shall contain a list of behavioral service providers with whom the District contracts.
