Dr. Lynn Miller

Dr. Lynn Miller is the principal of Sandra Day O’Connor High School in the Deer Valley Unified School District. He has been a public school administrator for the past seventeen years at the Middle and High School levels. Prior to taking the helm at O’Connor High School, he was the Principal at Deer Valley Middle School where over a 5 year period he and his team turned the school around and led them to a, first ever, "B" label.

Dr. Miller returns to OHS, where he was the Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction. Prior to entering administration he taught multiple grades for nine years at the K - 8 setting with the major focus being in Middle School Math. His doctoral research focused on building Purposeful Communities at the campus level. As a practicing Instructional Leader he is currently developing a systems approach to learning via deploying specific goal teams across his campus to ensure that learning gaps are strategically targeted with laser-like focus. His leadership beliefs are strongly aligned to developing learners for tomorrow's leaders while empowering shared leadership amongst his staff.

The motto for OHS will still reign with, Expect the Best, Get the Best, Be the Best, but while honoring our past we will continue to strive for Excellence and in doing so we will develop leaders. Dr. Miller is adamant about Honoring Learning while Building Leaders.

In 2018, Dr. Miller led Sandra Day O'Connor High School to earn the coveted recognition of an A+ School of Excellence Award.  The school was evaluated in the areas of student focus and support, school culture, active teaching and learning, curriculum, leadership, community and parent involvement and assessment data.

With the continued success and growth that the Eagles are known for, Dr. Miller is confident that we will be the world class high school our community and school district expects from our Eagles.
