  • Introduction to Graphic Design

    Course Description

    This introductory level course acquaints students with the fundamentals of graphic design/visual communication and gives students hands-on experience with relevant technology to prepare them for pursuing a career in the creative and growing visual communication industry. The combination of visual art and technical concepts helps students develop skills in critical thinking, logic, communication, organization and problem solving. The students will learn the fundamentals of graphic design and create compositions using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

     

    Intermediate Graphic Design

    Course Description

    This intermediate level course acquaints students with the added fundamentals of graphic design/visual communication and gives students hands-on experience with relevant technology to prepare them further for pursuing a career in the creative and growing visual communication industry. The combination of visual art and technical concepts helps students develop skills in critical thinking, logic, communication, organization and problem solving. The students will learn new fundamentals of graphic design and create intricate compositions using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Students will also be learning about print processes and how to operate a print shop similar to Eagle Ink, which they will also learn to operate and will be fulfilling orders for campus organizations. 

     

    Advanced Graphic Design

    Course Description

    This advanced level course acquaints students with the fundamentals of graphic design/visual communication and gives students hands-on experience with relevant technology to prepare them for pursuing a career in the creative and growing visual communication industry. The combination of visual art and technical concepts helps students develop skills in critical thinking, logic, communication, organization and problem solving. The students will work on a series of projects, both self-guided and teacher-issued to add to a digital portfolio site. Students will be using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

     

    These courses follow the Arizona State Career and Technical Education Program (CTE) standards.
