New River Elementary School principal Tina Marone was honored by the on June 12th, as the ASA's "Elementary Rookie Principal of the Year" winner for the 2022-23 school year. The purpose of this award is to recognize an outstanding new elementary principal who has excelled in the profession. This award is designed to recognize exemplary leadership of the school and community during the first few years as a principal.
Marone has been part of 香港六合彩资料 for more than 20 years, first as a teacher and an assistant principal before taking the reins at New River Elementary. In just one year, New River Elementary student achievement has greatly improved, elevating the school from a "C" status to an "A" status per the . New River Elementary's K-8 proficiency points, , ranked in the top 25% of all state traditional K-8 public schools, while the school's 87.24 total percentage points earned ranked in the the state's top 20% of all state traditional K-8 schools.
At New River, students participate in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities throughout the school year. Each month, the STEM focus shifts so that students can develop skills in science, technology, engineering, and math. The school also features and ecology club, raising awareness and educating students and staff about sustainability issues.
In addition to leading New River Elementary's turnaround, Marone also plays an active leadership role in the district's Professional Learning Communities (PLC), which helps teachers learn how to effectively facilitate collaborative teams and build PLC capacity on their campuses.
