• Hello!

My name is Madison Thomas and I am the new Student Support Services teacher at Sonoran Foothills.I would like to quickly introduce myself before we start the school year!

I was born and raised in San Diego, California and moved to Arizona in 2018 to attend Grand Canyon University where I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. During my time at GCU, I was President of Best Buddies, an inclusive club that creates one on one friendships between GCU students and students with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Not only did this club increase my passion for the IDD community, it also equipped me with beneficial teaching skills that I plan on implementing in my classroom. My desire to help students began when I was a student myself. In elementary school, my teachers were convinced that I had a learning disability because I did not learn the “typical” way of reading a textbook and showing my knowledge through a written test. I strongly believe that each student is unique in their learning style and abilities. I promise that I will appreciate your students' learning style, needs and abilities while providing them with beneficial resources and assistance to encourage academic success and personal growth. I look forward to a great school year!
