I once took a position as a paraprofessional and found out exactly what it was to love teaching. When you spend time with someone who thinks they can't do something and you guide them and encourage them until they can master that skill.... wow! That is the magic. That is what teachers LOVE. It takes patience, kindness, planning and perseverance.
In 2002 I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. In 2009 I earned credentials in teaching Special Education. I then earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2013. This will be my 22nd year of teaching with 19 of those years in Special Education. The 23/24 school year will be my fourth year at The Traditional Academy at Bellair. Why do I LOVE teaching here? The kids are wonderful and the staff feels like family.
My oldest son Robbie lives in Texas. My youngest son, Michael is still at home. I have two dogs, Bella and Kricket.
