Ms. Bise

Here is a little about me...

I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I moved to Arizona when I was in third grade. I love to go back to New York and New Jersey (especially the Jersey Shore) to visit family, but Arizona is a great place to live! I am thrilled and honored to get to know and teach you.

I graduated from ASU in December of 1993 and began subbing in the Deer Valley schools. From the first day I subbed, I fell in love with teaching. I was thrilled to be given a long-term substitute assignment in fifth grade. The next year, I was given my first class of third graders. I can still remember the excitement of having my very own class. I stayed in third grade for two years before moving up to fourth. The fourth grade curriculum, students and teachers I had the privilege of working with were incredible, so I stayed there for 23 years! When I heard about the Traditional Academy at Bellair, I was so excited and knew that I wanted to be a part of it from the beginning. I taught sixth grade math and science for two years and then added fifth grade math last year. This year I get to teach only math to both fifth and sixth graders which is my true passion! I work hard to ensure that my students share my enthusiasm for learning and especially develop a love for learning and problem solving. I have a Master's Degree in Education from NAU and continue to go to trainings and workshops that can help me become a better teacher.

I  have two boys. My oldest son, Anthony just got his Associates degree at GCC and is working full time this semester while he decided his career path.  He works hard in school and at his job, and I am proud of his achievements. His little brother, Nolan is going to Mountain Ridge High School as a sophomore this year and plays on the football team. Go Ridge! They both love sports and Anthony played football for all of his years at Sunrise Mountain. I also live with my partner, Will. He has two children,  William and Grace. William played for Sunrise Mountain all four years and is busy starting his career. Grace is currently living on a ranch and learning to rope an barrel race her horse. We are definitely a football family and love cheering on the Cardinals and the Cowboys.  We love to explore beautiful places and Arizona has so many of them! We like to go places in our camper, go to the lake to jetski, snow ski, hike, watch football and have fun together. My most exciting adventure was skydiving with Anthony when he turned 18! My happy place is definitely the beach, and I go to either New Jersey to see family and hang out at the beach or to San Diego each summer. We were lucky enough to go to Hawaii for Spring Break two years ago, and it was awesome. I'm so excited about being your teacher this year and getting to know all about you!
