Thank you for coming by, here's more about me and my family...

I was born in San Francisco, CA and grew up in Poulsbo, WA. In high school, I was on the varsity gymnastics team (all around) and drill team. After high school, I attended Olympic College for my AAS, then moved to San Diego. Attending SDSU, I obtained my bachelors, my teaching credential and my Minor in African Studies. I now have my Masters in Criminal Justice and Law. Go Lopes! I've taught at SD Unified, and in the La Mesa Spring Valley School District. My girls and I moved here 16 years ago, where I've taught at Anthem School, in both first and fifth grade. I am looking forward to teaching my 11th year of 5th grade with some new and wonderful students here at Mirage Elementary. I value my team and we work closely together. Technology is one of my other passions. In our classroom, we have a SmartBoard, a document camera, an extra student laptop, a projector and various other equipment. In our class we use Chromebooks and Google Classroom. I've become Google Certified, level 2. These technologies add to our learning environment greatly. We feel fortunate to have access to these technologies in our school. 
We have two cats: Meow and Kenya and our dog Weston, who just turned 10 in July. We love Yoga, riding bikes, and hiking. My oldest daughter graduated Abilene Christian University in Texas and my youngest is chasing her dreams songwriting and singing. I am so proud. 
I love Indian food, Chick Fil A, Dara Thai, Panda Express, and Maggiano's. On the top of my travel list are Seattle and San Diego, two places I've lived and are dear to my heart. I hope to visit Scotland soon! We attend CCV.

My brother, Robert who served in the 82nd Airborne, is now home from Afghanistan. He's retired from the Army now!  We love the USA and everyone who defends her honor.
