Hello, 6th Grade Students and Families!
My name is Alex Scaminaci and I am the 6th Grade Math Teacher at Mirage Elementary. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Illinois. My husband and I moved to Arizona from Illinois three years ago and are proud to call Arizona our home!
This will be my ninth year teaching and my first year at Mirage. I've taught 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade and I'm excited about teaching 6th Grade this year! My absolute favorite subjects are math and science and I’m looking forward to all the exploring and problem-solving we will experience this year!
When I’m not at school I love spending time with our puppy, cooking, hiking, riding my bike, and reading A LOT of books!
I recognize that the first and lifelong teachers of my students are their parents. I value collaboration with my students and their families to ensure a successful year full of social, emotional, and academic growth!
