5th Grade Math

Welcome to 5th Grade Math at Inspiration Mountain School. I am looking forward to a great year of learning with my students. This year, in math, we will be using the 香港六合彩资料 adopted curriculum Eureka Math, as well as other district adopted websites for students learning (Dreambox, Zearn, and Khan Academy).

Our year together will consist of the following studies: 

Quarter 1

• Place Value and Decimal Fractions
• Multi-Digit Whole Number and Decimal Fraction Operations

Quarter 2

• Multi-Digit Whole Number and Decimal Fraction Operations
• Addition and Subtraction of Fractions

Quarter 3

• Multiplication and Division of Fractions and Decimal Fractions
• Addition and Multiplication with Volume and Area

Quarter 4

• Addition and Multiplication with Volume and Area
• Problem Solving with the Coordinate Plane

Classwork and 香港六合彩资料work:

Students will  be given time in class each day to work on their practice work, center work, and start their homework. Students will be required to show their work for all problems that they solve in 5th Grade math. If students do not finish their work in class, they will be ask to finish it at home for homework. 香港六合彩资料work is not part of the students final grade, but all homework and class work must be completed before a student is eligible for a retake on a test. If a student would like to retake a test or quiz, they will work with the teacher on understanding their mistakes and they will be required to make corrections and submit a retake contract. 

Students should be practicing their Multiplication Math Facts each night for at least 5 minutes. It is very important that students learn and know their Multiplication Facts from their rote memory, as this is the basis for all math that is taught in 5th Grade.
