Mr. Ryan Salcido

Ryan Salcido is currently serving as the band director at Norterra Canyon (AM) and Diamond Canyon (PM). Prior to these schools, Ryan was the director of bands at Ironwood High School. Ryan Salcido began his professional teaching career at Mesquite Jr High School in Gilbert, Arizona in2013. While teaching at Mesquite Junior High School, he also served as the Assistant Director for the Mesquite High School Marching Band from 2013-2015. 

Ensembles under his direction have received numerous awards and high recognition at area and state festivals. During his direction at the middle school level, the bands received consistent Superior and Superior with Distinction ratings at District, Area, and State festivals for jazz and concert bands. While serving as the Assistant Director with Mesquite High School Marching Band, the band received 1st place at Arizona Marching Band Championships in 2014 & 2015.

Ryan Salcido serves as a clinician and adjudicator for Arizona Band and Orchestra Director's Association for marching band, concert band, and solo & ensemble festivals. He is also a member of the brass staff for The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps in Tempe, Arizona. 

Mr. Salcido graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Music Education. While at Arizona State, he studied under the direction of James Hudson, Dennis Smith, John Studzinski, Tracy Werner, and David DuPlessis. In his free time, Mr. Salcido enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter, playing board games, and sports.
