Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year Parent(s) and Students! 

My name is Michelle Walsh and I am one of the four teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing! I am excited to be working with you and your student. 

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Northern Illinois University.  I have been teaching for 34 years with 6 of those years teaching 5th and 6th grade general education language arts.  Although I loved all of my students completely during those 6 six years, it was then that I realized my true passion was teaching the deaf and hard of hearing.  I truly feel that I am exactly where I need to be and so happy to be here!  :) 

My family moved to Arizona about 22 years ago.  I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jim, for 32 years and together we have 3 amazing kids.  Our oldest, Allison, lives in Tucson.  She is the Utilization Management Specialist for La Frontera.  Our son, Jimmy, is the Technical Coordinator for Sonoran Quest Laboratories.  Both Allison and Jimmy attended the University of Arizona and received bachelor's degrees in psychology and chemistry respectively.  Our youngest, Katie, went to Northern Arizona University and received her bachelor's degree in biomedical science.  She completed her master's degree at the University of Chicago in biomedical informatics. Unlike me, our children all love science. :) 

In my free time I absolutely love going to concerts (I've been to over 100), sporting events (especially when my Chicago teams are in town), movies (I LOVE popcorn), taking vacations (my family is so much fun), reading (I'm in 2 book clubs), and playing games (I like all kinds).  Some might think I have an unhealthy relationship with Amazon as well.  :)
