Hello! My name is Ms. Horn. I grew up in Munster, Indiana and moved to Arizona when I was in 5th grade. I was a student in the Deer Valley district through middle and high school. After graduating from Boulder Creek High School, I went to Northern Arizona University for a year while studying Hotel and Restaurant Management. As much as I enjoyed getting to know people while working in hotels, I knew I wanted to do more and make a difference in the lives of others. 

I transferred to Arizona State University and pursued a degree in Elementary Education. I graduated with this degree in 2016. I began teaching 3rd grade in Avondale and also started my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. After finishing my Master’s degree in 2018, I transitioned down into a K/1 combo class. I loved working with the younger students and working with them on Social Emotional Learning. This has quickly become my passion: to help students learn how to express themselves, embrace their emotions, and how to solve problems. I have taught kindergarten and 3rd grade since coming to Deer Valley and am excited to be teaching 1st grade this year! 

I have a 9-year-old son who attends Park Meadows. I love being able to be so involved in his education. I am excited about being a come-back kid and teaching in Deer Valley!
