I am thrilled to be starting another exciting year teaching third grade at Legend Springs!  It is hard to believe that this will be my 24th year in the field of education.  When you love your job as much as I do, time really does fly! I am excited to start my ninth year here at Legend Springs with a wonderful new group of students and families.    Prior to joining the Legend Springs staff, I had been an educator in the Pendergast School District.  During those 15 years, I had the pleasure of teaching 4^th, 5^th, and 6^th grade, as well as team-teaching middle school mathematics.  I have also served as a kindergarten through eighth grade instructional coach for seven years.

 

I have been married to my best friend, Michael, for the past 17 years.  We have one amazing daughter, Savannah, and she will be attending ninth grade in the Deer Valley School District this year.  We also have a fun-loving dog named Rexy.  When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family.  We like to swim, ride our bikes, play board games, and jump on the trampoline together!   We also enjoy kayaking in Prescott with family and visiting the rest of our family in Pittsburgh. 

 

My philosophy of education is deeply rooted in the Kids at Hope Philosophy and the Treasure Hunter’s pledge:  "As an adult and Treasure Hunter, I am committed to searching for all of the talents, skills, and intelligences that exist in all children and youth.  I believe that ALL children are capable of success, no exceptions!"
