Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year.

 Hello Parents,

My name is Jason Walrod, and I am the Paxton Career Action Labs (C.A.L.) teacher here at Hillcrest Middle School.

I will also be teaching a few classes of Project Science this year in the 2nd semester.

The past 5 years I was an 8th grade science teacher here at Hillcrest,

I am originally from Minnesota, but have lived in Arizona for the past 29 years now. My path to becoming a teacher was a long one. Originally working in the business world with a degree in Finance for the first half of my working career.  After a lay off at my last job I began working as a substitute teacher in the Deer Valley district. A few short years later and several trips to the Department of Education I now have my teaching license. I am also the 8th grade Baseball and 8th grade boys Volleyball coach here at Hillcrest. My passion for coaching is really what has lead me to teaching. Now I teach baseball Career Action Labs and Project science. As of last year I have also taken on coaching Freshman Baseball at OC.

Baseball camp is August 8th - 10th. TRY OUTS will be August 14th-16th.

This is for both 7th and 8th grade. Please make sure you information is complete in My Student Athlete.
