Welcome to Music and Choir with Mr. Ambrose,

 

Hello and welcome to the Copper Creek music program. My name is Morgan Ambrose and I will be your child’s music teacher. I am a Grand Canyon University Graduate and a former student of the Deer Valley Unified School District. This will be my eighth year teaching in Deer Valley and my seventh at Copper Creek. During the year, students will be engaged in playing instruments, using their singing voices, using movement in music, and learning about music from cultures all around the world. As students enter the upper elementary grades, they will perform on our classroom set of guitars and ukuleles. In 2016, our PTSA approved a grant for 27 new guitars for our music program. We are one of the only elementary schools in our district to provide a classroom set of guitars and ukuleles for each student. As a percussionist, I teach each grade level new rhythms and beats on a variety of instruments. Students will be actively engaged in the bucket drumming curriculum I have created for 5^th and 6^th grade students. Students in the 4^th,5^th, and 6^th grade will also be able to participate in the school choir. Our choir performs at multiple events throughout the year and participates in the district honor choir each year. We look forward to having you in music soon!!
