Hello Thunderbolts!

Welcome to my page! I'm Nurse Patty and I've had the honor of being the school nurse at Desert Sky Middle School for quite some time. Originally, I was here from 2006-2012 when my youngest child graduated from Deer Valley High School. I did other things for a few years but decided in 2016 that I just missed my Sky family too much and so here I am again! I've got quite an extensive background (med/surg hospital nursing, ICU, Maricopa County Jail System, skilled facilities, etc). And while I've learned something everywhere I've been, I know without a doubt that school nursing is where I will be until I retire (which is quite a few years from now!) I grew up in North Dakota but have been in Arizona since 1982, so I'm kind of a "native" now. I have two grown children (Rick and Brittany--the years go by quickly!) and a dog (Sammy) and cat (Johnny) at home. I love to spend my free time doing crafts and creating things just for the fun of it. I still have my saxophone from high school (yes, it's pretty old!) and break it out at home now and then to keep my skills up. I hope you enjoy your time here at Desert Sky and that you will learn like I have that Once a Thunderbolt Always a Thunderbolt!!
