I am Jerry Slawson.  I grew up and went to college in Texas.  I started school at Sam Houston State University (Bearkats) and then transferred and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (Lumberjacks), where I received my BSEd and MEd.  After teaching for two years in Texas, I decided to move to Phoenix with a friend.  The first week I was in Phoenix, I met my future wife while playing volleyball with her and her group of friends.  I have now been married for more than 23 years and have two beautiful children.  My son has earned his Electrical Engineering degree at ASU and my daughter is in medical studies (minor in French) at ASU.  She is just coming back from a study abroad in Lyon, France and starting her senior year--GO DEVILS! 

 

In addition to the two years that I taught in Texas, I have been teaching for  27+ years here in Phoenix.  I teach one quarter of leadership and three quarters of health for the 7th and 8th graders and I teach PE to K-6, but not 2nd grade (my prep time--sorry 2nd graders). My Health and Leadership classes are mostly on Canvas. 

 

In addition to my teaching duties, I am the Athletic Coordinator.  I am ready for Paseo to earn a banner for a championship!!  Let's Gooooooooooo Rattlers!!!!
