Miss MaKenna Powell
Hi, I am Miss Powell!
I was born and raised in Southern California, but decided to move to Arizona in October of 2020. I love all things Harry Potter and Disney (Sleeping Beauty being my favorite), and my hobby is training Brazilian Jujitsu.
I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2018. While attending GCU, I was a part of the Division 1 Track & Field team as a pole vaulter. Since then, I have become a certified Educator in the state of Arizona, have received my gifted certification, and coach cross country.
I have gained teaching experience working as a preschool teacher and director in California. After I moved to Arizona I immediately started working as the long-term substitute for preschool at Canyon Springs. For the 21/22 school year, I was the Bright Child Kindergarten teacher. Last year 22/23, was quite an adventure! I was surplussed into Physical Education for the beginning of the year, while in the second half of the year I took over a kindergarten class. I am excited to have a fun year back in kindergarten helping lay the foundation to your child’s educational future.
Myself and my kinder team have so many fun/exciting things planned for the year and I cannot wait to create so many fun memories in kindergarten.
