     6th Grade Science and Social Studies with Ms. Ditmer

     
                
    Welcome to 6th Grade!
     
    I am excited to start the 2023-2024 school year!  In my classroom, you will be learning both science and social studies.
     
    Science
     
     All students will no longer be "students." They will become scientists. I believe science should be mostly hands on.  Students will experience science, not just learn it!
     
    We will begin the year with science safety, energy and matter, gravity and orbits, and seasons, tides, and constellations. As the year progresses, we will also cover energy in ecosystems and human impacts.
     
    Social Studies
    In Social Studies, we will be covering World History. We begin with ancient man, then move into the River Civilizations. We continue with the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, then end the year with the Reformation.
