Hello!

I am Mrs. Brooks, the reading specialist at Canyon Springs. I have been a teacher in Deer Valley for a long time. I have specialized in teaching the primary grades, until I received my reading specialist endorsement. I now love working with readers in kindergarten through third grade.

I was born in Tennessee, but have lived in Arizona since I was a kid. (No accent left) I graduated from Arizona State University. My husband John is  a retired Deer Valley. We have three boys, our youngest is headed off to college this year, and my middle son just got married. We also have two young dogs that keep us on our toes!

When I am not at school, I like to be with my family. We enjoy fishing and camping. I have always loved swimming, so I find myself in the pool a lot over the summer. I also enjoy reading, crossword puzzles, as well as doing jigsaw puzzles and playing board games.

I absolutely love my job and hope to instill the joy of reading in all my students.
