Mr. Abel Dragomir

 
Mr. Abel B. Dragomir attended Sigismund Toduta School of Music from the time he was in first grade all the way through his junior year of high school in his birth-city of Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, Romania. There, he studied music theory through piano, chorus, sight-singing, dictation, composition, clarinet, music history, and orchestra. Mr. Dragomir moved to Arizona his senior year and graduated from Apollo High School, Glendale. During his time there, he participated in both the choral and the instrumental programs.
Mr. Dragomir started his studies in music education at Glendale Community College where he also worked as a music theory and aural perception tutor. In December 2009, he completed and received his music education bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. Since college, Mr. Dragomir has taught general music, choir, and band in the Deer Valley Unified School District at Desert Winds Elementary until May, 2014. Mr. Dragomir is currently in his 10th year as Director of Choirs and Piano Music Instructor at Mountain Ridge High School. Under his direction, the choir program has grown to three sections and the choirs have received multiple Gold, Superior with Distinction and Superior ratings at the state and national level. 
Mr. Dragomir's wife, Alycia Dragomir, is the Band Director at Copper Creek Elementary and the Choir Director at Terramar Academy of the Arts. Together they have three sons (David, Isaiah, and Abel).
Mr. Dragomir has a strong passion for music and believes that every person has the right to understand the beauty that music can provide.
