I am thrilled to continue my teaching career at Village Meadows. This is my 17th year teaching in Deer Valley. I am married to Mr. Almazan and I have two sons: Charlie, 28, and Aaron, 18. 

I love teaching; it is where I found my true calling. I began this journey by volunteering in my oldest son's kindergarten room over 20 years ago! I knew I needed to get an advanced degree so that I could become a teacher. I earned my master's degree in elementary education in 2007. I have taught many different grade levels from preschool to 6th grade. Because early childhood is my true passion, I made sure to get an early childhood endorsement on my teaching certificate. I am really excited to be a part of the Head Start program.

I love the way children light up when they discover something new. It is especially enjoyable when students get excited about a new topic. I enjoy encouraging students to persevere and keep trying until they can do something, or until they can understand something brand new. We have fun, we play a lot, and we learn something new every day.
