• School Bus Welcome to Developmental Preschool- Ms. Michelle (2023-2024)

The Deer Valley Unified School District's Early Childhood classrooms provide an environment that respects the unique developmental needs of each child.  Our play-based environment promotes language, intellectual, social, emotional, physical and creative development of each child. The program is free for children who qualify for special education in accordance with federal and state regulations. To have your child screened for Special Education, please call: 602-467-6013.

Children who are ineligible for special education may attend preschool on a tuition-based monthly fee as a part of the Peer Model Program. The three-day program is $150 per month and the four-day program is $200 per month. Parents must use the portal to pay tuition.

    What to Bring

    (1) Students will need a full-sized backpack. We have regular sized take-home folders and large projects that will be going home with them regularly. (2) A reusable water bottle, labeled with their name. (3) A change of clothes (including a shirt, bottoms, underwear, and socks) in a labeled ziploc bag. (4) Diapers and wipes if your child has diapering needs.

    Attire

Please ensure that your child comes in close-toed shoes each day. Shorts or leggings must be worn under dresses or skirts. While we do use washable materials (paints, markers, etc.), inevitably we will get a little messy during our day at preschool, so please keep this in mind as you get your child ready for school each day.

    Snack

In Developmental Pre-K, snack time is not JUST a snack. We use this time as an opportunity to teach self-advocacy, communication, following directions, fine motor skills, table manners, and other important life skills. The Early Childhood department does provide a daily snack for students, which is served "family style." We ask that you do NOT bring snacks in from home due to allergy and safety concerns, in addition to efforts to promote these skills. If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact me and I'd be happy to work with you on a solution. Snack menus can be viewed under the "Snack Calendar" section of this site.

    Absences

If your child will be absent, please call the attendance line at 623-445-4790. If your child is a bus rider, you must also call Transportation at 602-467-5070.
