Hello, I am Mr. Ashmore and I am excited to be your social studies teacher this year.  This is my 16th year of teaching overall, and I am excited to be back at Stetson Hills for my fourth year. I am originally from Jenison (near Grand Rapids), Michigan and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2006 to pursue a career in teaching. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on History and Business Education from Central Michigan University.  Phoenix has been great to me and I enjoy the wonderful weather we experience.

I have been married to my wife Lauren for seven years.  I have two wonderful daughters, Presley (6 years old and going into 1st Grade), and Brynn (3 years old), who will be going to Pre-School at Sandra Day O' Connor.  In addition, we have a golden doodle named Rylee who is 8 years old.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books of all genres, and watching the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, and the University of Michigan basketball team. I also like  lifting weights and enjoying historical and superhero movies (Spiderman!)

I am very passionate about teaching social studies and hope to pass along some of that passion and excitement to my students through engaging and thoughtful activities.  I have high expectations for all of my students and plan to challenge them academically.   I hope to have a great year and fun year teaching 7th grade!
